Course Format
With its emphasis on prevention, self-rescue, and the importance of managing situations effectively, the Rescue Diver Course will equip you to deal with a wide range of typical problems, making you a better buddy, and increasing your confidence as a diver.
Knowledge Development
As well as Theory lessons the course is completed with the help of a Rescue Diver Manual. This is designed to allow you to study at home at your convenience to prepare for the lessons and final exam. The theory will be reviewed with your Instructor, providing you with the opportunity to ask any further questions before completing the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter.
Confined Water Training
This course includes a number of pool sessions. During the sessions you will cover:
- Self rescue and diver stress
- Diving First Aid
- Emergency management and equipment conciderations
- Swimming and non swimming assists
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
- Underwater problems
- Missing diver procedures
- In-water artificial respiration
- Egress (exits)
- First Aid procedures for pressure related accidents
- Dive accident scenarios
Open Water Evaluation Dives
The Open Water Dives take place over two days, during these dives we introduce the above skills into various scenarios.
